Yesterday was a great day for Philadelphia. First, the Phillies won. Then, the Flyers won. Then, the 76ers won to complete the trifecta.
The Phillies have been through a lot in the last week after losing their long-time beloved announcer Harry Kalas. It was an emotional week that the Phillieswill have to put behind them if they want to continue with their season. It is ironic that after the week in which Kalas died, the newest Phillie won the game in dramatic fashion. Raul Ibanez blasted a homerun in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Phillies a 5-4 win over the Padres. Ibanez was signed to a 3 year, 31 million dollar contract in the off-season to replace left fielder Pat Burrell and has not disappointed. In the early going, Ibanezis batting .386 with 5 homeruns.
